Last updated: September 2026 · Tree Key is a trading name of Vector Data Labs
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Tree Key website (treekey.uk) and the lead-generation service provided through it (the "Service"), operated by Vector Data Labs, trading as Tree Key ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you ("you", "the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is intended for business use by tree surgery, arboricultural, and related trade businesses. It is not intended for consumers acting outside a trade, business, or profession.
Tree Key identifies and aggregates leads relating to tree work ("Leads") derived substantially from publicly available UK local council planning application records, Companies House records, and related public data sources.
Leads are processed using automated methods, including automated classification of whether a named agent or representative on a planning application appears to be a tree surgery or arboricultural business. This classification is a best-effort estimate and is not manually verified for every Lead.
Tree Key provides access to Lead information only. Tree Key is not a party to, and has no involvement in, any subsequent contact, quote, contract, or work arrangement between the Customer and any third party named in or connected to a Lead.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate an account where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, or where required by law.
Access to Leads is provided on the subscription plans, credit packages, and pricing displayed on the Service at the time of purchase. Prices and plan structures may change; changes will not affect a billing period already paid for.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges for the plan you select until you cancel. Subscriptions may be cancelled via your account settings, or by emailing contact@treekey.uk, effective at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. Because you are granted immediate access to proprietary Lead data the moment you subscribe or purchase a single lead, all payments — subscription and one-off purchases alike — are non-refundable, including for unused portions of a billing cycle, save for the Lead-Quality Promise below. Nothing in this clause affects any statutory right you may have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Lead-Quality Promise. Every Lead is automatically filtered to confirm it describes genuine tree work before it is listed or dispatched. On the rare occasion a Lead that is not genuine tree work reaches you despite this, notify us at contact@treekey.uk with a screenshot of the Lead, and we will, at your choice, issue a replacement Lead of equivalent value or a refund for that Lead.
Lead information reflects data available to Tree Key at the time of discovery or last check and is not guaranteed to be current, complete, or accurate. In particular, we do not guarantee that: the underlying planning application remains active or undetermined; no contractor has since been engaged by the applicant, whether or not this is reflected in the public record; contact or applicant details are current or correct; or that use of a Lead will result in a successful quote, contract, or completed job.
You are responsible for independently verifying, directly with the applicant, whether work described in a Lead remains available before committing time, quotes, or resources.
Tree Key provides the Service on an "as available" basis and, to the extent permitted by law, excludes all implied warranties and conditions relating to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and satisfactory quality.
You agree not to: resell, redistribute, or share Lead data with any third party who is not a party to your own account, except as necessary to quote for or perform the work described; use the Service to build a competing lead-generation product; attempt to scrape, bulk-export beyond what the Service provides, or reverse-engineer the Service; use any Lead's personal data for a purpose other than contacting that person about the specific tree work described in the Lead; or misuse, harass, or make misleading representations to any person contacted via information obtained through the Service.
We may suspend access for breach of this section without refund.
The Service, its underlying software, aggregation methodology, and branding are owned by Tree Key or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any of this to the Customer.
Underlying public-record data (planning applications, Companies House filings) remains subject to the terms of the original source (e.g. Companies House data is available under the Open Government Licence); Tree Key's aggregation and classification of it does not create exclusive rights over the underlying facts.
Leads may include personal data (for example, an applicant's or agent's name, and in some cases contact details) sourced from public records. Tree Key processes this personal data as a data controller for the purpose of operating the lead-generation service — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on lawful basis and your rights.
Customers who receive personal data through a Lead must handle it in accordance with UK GDPR themselves for their own onward use (e.g., adding a contact to their own CRM), and must not use it for a purpose incompatible with the reason it was provided (see clause 6).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tree Key's total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service, any Lead, or these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the total amount paid by the Customer to Tree Key in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Tree Key shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business opportunity, or wasted expenditure (including quoting, travel, or staff time), arising from reliance on a Lead that proves inaccurate, outdated, or already actioned.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law.
You agree to indemnify Tree Key against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of Section 6 (Acceptable Use) or your misuse of personal data obtained through the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
Either party may terminate a subscription in accordance with Section 4. Tree Key may suspend or terminate access immediately for a material breach of these Terms, illegal use of the Service, or non-payment. Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding the Service.
Contact. Questions about these Terms can be sent to contact@treekey.uk.
